Architects & Specifiers
Windows and doors significantly impact the aesthetics and functionality of any building; whether it’s a refurbishment project or a new build. To help you achieve your creative vision whilst delivering a high quality and efficient building, it’s crucial that you work with a supplier that has sufficient technical know-how and quality assurance.
Between them, our members combine decades of design and manufacturing experience with technical expertise. Whether you’re looking to specify contemporary timber windows and doors for a commercial project, or are working on a sensitive restoration project, you can be assured that any WWA member will be able to provide a solution that meets your needs and budget.
Meeting project needs
Having worked across various sectors – commercial, education, social housing, domestic, heritage and conservation – our members work with clients to deliver beautiful timber windows and doors that contribute to the overall efficiency and practicality of a building. Standard timber window and doors can be customised to realise your design, with our members providing guidance on how specific tweaks might impact overall product performance. They will also ensure you have all of the relevant glazing information so that you can make an informed decision on how the glazing unit specified will impact energy and acoustic performance.
The efficiency of timber windows and doors
Our members offer windows with A+ to C Window Energy Ratings, with whole window U-values down to under 0.8, Passivhaus Standard. As a qualification of Wood Window Alliance membership, they exceed the energy-efficiency requirements in the Building Regulations and the performance requirements defined in BS 6375 Parts 1 and 2.
From a security perspective, our members design and manufacture timber windows and doors to PAS 24 and Approved Document Part Q standard. Many also have Secured by Design accreditation.
